Alberto Torres’ Plan for the Community:

Education Reform

Making our schools a real place to learn, free of violence and drugs.

After School Programs

Providing children with role models, mentorship and internship opportunities by establishing greater after school activities, mentorship programs, supplementary tutoring sessions and honor student enhancement programs/initiatives.

Safer Communities

Providing and retaining affordable housing for all community residents. Protecting the financial security and personal rights of senior citizens.

Job Creation

Creating more job opportunities by outreaching to corporate America to attract greater and more meaningful jobs in the district.

Fighting to reduce environmental pollutants that cause asthma and learning disabilities to thousands of children who live in our community.

Community Relations

Fostering an alliance on the very significant relations hip between the diverse nationalities and immigrant communities within the district because "the hopes and dreams for our children an ourselves are all the same."
