Alberto Torres, Esq. is a graduate of New York Law School (J.D. 1986) and the City College of New York (B.A. 1983).  Mr. Torres’ practice of law entails twenty-five years of legal experience in the areas of Cooperative and Condominium general counsel, Commercial and Real Estate Transactions and Litigation, Civil and Housing Court Litigation, incorporating and advising small business and not-for-profit corporations, trusts and estates and criminal law.

Throughout the past twelve years, Mr. Torres has had extensive experience in counseling and advising cooperative and condominium developments on conversion plans and governance of their cooperative developments.  Mr. Torres was an instructor with the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) and represents many cooperative developments under the Housing Development Fund Corporation (HDFC) statutes, and represents developments under the Tenant Interim Lease Program (TIL).

Mr. Torres served as a Commissioner on the New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission from 1996 to 2004 and was the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Bronx Council for Economic Development and a member of the Puerto Rican Bar Association and the American Legion Unionport Post 1065.
